Like A Mighty Stream – Sunday, January 27, 2019

Led by Rev. Steven Protzman and Colleen Thoele with Worship Associate Rev. Christie Anderson

In his famous “I Have a Dream” speech Martin Luther King Jr. invoked the words of the Hebrew prophet Amos: “But let justice roll down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream.” As we begin the UUA Thirty Days of Love, this service for all ages will be an invitation to live out our faith in the next month as we work toward building a promised land where there is justice and peace.

One service at 10 AM followed by a congregational town hall meeting.   Nursery care will be available during both the service and the meeting.

This service, originally planned for January 20, has been moved to Sunday, January 27.

The Spirit of Yes – Sunday, January 13, 2019

Led by Rev. Steven Protzman with Worship Associate Lori McGee

One of the tasks of religion is to explore life’s deepest questions, including “what is our purpose in life?” One possible answer is found in the words of Rev. Frederick Buechner, who speaks of the spiritual place where our passions meet the needs of the world. As life calls us into meaningful lives of service where we share our gifts, talents, and passions, how does the Spirit of yes invite us to respond with our whole lives?

Sunday services are offered at 9:45 and 11:30 am with nursery care available during both services.

Installation Service of Rev. Steven Protzman – January 12, 2019

Beloved UUCK Members and Friends,

Covenant is at the heart of our commitment to each other and our faith community. When we covenant together, we agree to hold ourselves and each other in love, compassion, and right relationship. Oftentimes this is informal in our work together, and occasionally we have the joyful opportunity to celebrate and formalize these commitments.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Kent, I would like to cordially invite all in our community to covenant with Rev. Steven Protzman, and formally install him as our Settled Minister. It will be a ceremony full of grace and love, honoring his and our commitment to each other and our beloved UUCK community. There will also be time to connect and celebrate!
