Transitional Music Director
The Unitarian Universalist Church of Kent is seeking to hire a part-time Transitional Music Director to lead the church’s music program. Candidates must have effective communication and leadership skills, understand change and other organizational dynamics, collaborate with the worship team, accompany hymns, collaborate with other musicians, lead the choir and other music ensembles, oversee the music program budget and program administration. This is a unique opportunity to shape and grow a music ministry in a congregation that is musically nurturing, theologically liberal, and appreciative of different genres.

This position is exempt, 20 hours per week with a salary of $23,920. Benefits include health care, life insurance, long-term disability, dental/vision, vacation, and a professional expense budget. There is some flexibility in the weekly schedule, other than Sunday morning, to accommodate other work schedules. This is a one-year (renewable for a second year) position. The transitional music director may apply for the permanent position of Music Ministries Director. The UU Church of Kent requires a criminal background check for employment or volunteer work purposes.
