Welcome Home

Sunday, April 2, 2023 at 10 AM.

A multi-platform service led by Rev. Steven Protzman and Worship Associate David Weaver.

There are different homes we make in our lives.  There can be an unexpected home, a chosen home, the home where we live, a home away from home, our church home.  As we kick off our annual Treats and Talents Auction, with its theme of “Welcome Home”, this service will be an opportunity to reflect on what home means with a variety of voices sharing different ideas about home and how we create it.

How to Build a Bridge

Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 10 AM

A multi-platform service led by Rev. Steven Protzman and DRE Colleen Thoele.

In a small village, a winter storm washed away the bridge across the deep gorge and the villagers were isolated.  They needed to build a new bridge.  As we celebrate the arrival of spring as a community of all ages, we will visit the village and help them build a new bridge.  As we do, we’ll reflect on the bridges we build to one another and what our bridges need to be strong.

Daring to be Vulnerable

Sunday, March 19, 2023 at 10 AM

A multi-platform service led by Rev. Steven Protzman and Worship Associate Randy Bish.

Writer Madeleine L’Engle says that “to be alive is to be vulnerable”.  We may think of vulnerability as a weakness, but what if it is actually a strength that helps us be more human?  This service will explore March’s Soul Matters theme “The Path of Vulnerability” and invites us to see vulnerability as a gift to be given, even though it is risky, and a means of becoming more connected with others.

Love is the Spirit of this Church!

Original art: Saul Flanner

Sunday, March 12, 2023 at 10 AM.

A multi-platform service led by Rev. Steven Protzman and Worship Associate Elaine Bowen.

We often use the words of James Vila Blake for our chalice lighting: “Love is the spirit of this church…” Have you ever stopped to think about what that means? What is this Love? What does it ask of us? As we complete our annual pledge campaign and celebrate our shared commitment to this congregation, we’ll reflect on the Love that brings and holds us together and calls us into fullness of life.
