Ch-ch-ch-Changes

Sunday, November 27, 2022 at 11 AM.

A multi-platform service led by Rev. Steven Protzman and Worship Associate Elaine Bowen.

Anne Morrow Lindbergh wrote: “We insist on permanency, on duration, on continuity; when the only continuity possible, in life as in love, is in growth, in fluidity.”  As we experience change as individuals, a congregation, a denomination, and a world, we will reflect on the truth that the only thing that is permanent is change and consider how our liberal faith might help us not only accept but embrace the reality of change.

Gratitude in Uncertain Times

Sunday, November 20, 2022 at 11 AM.

A multi-platform service led by Rev. Steven Protzman and Director of Religious Education Colleen Thoele.

How do we keep ourselves encouraged and hopeful in these times where everything seems so uncertain?  What if it’s as simple as practicing gratitude and remembering that in spite of things, we each have a lot to be grateful for?  As we celebrate Thanksgiving as a community of all ages, we will reflect on the power of gratitude to help us manage life’s challenges and find joy, even in these uncertain times.

Invitation from the Worship Team

This Fall we have tried some new things in service, including a time change for worship and Community Sundays on the first Sunday. The Worship Team will be reflecting on these changes at our December meeting. If you have any feedback pertaining to worship that you would like the team to consider, on these changes or other topics, please email your comments by November 23 to [email protected].  They will be considered along with other information as we work to meet the diverse needs of the congregation.

Who Do You Say That I Am?

Sunday, November 13, 2022 at 11 AM in Hobbs Hall.

A multi-platform service led by Rev. Christie Anderson.

Using dialogues and guidance from a special visitor, the meaning of Jesus’s wisdom teachings will be debated.  Several of Jesus’s well-known parables will be examined from differing perspectives, including voices of those involved with the Jesus Seminar who researched “the historical” Jesus.  The conclusion will consider how the values preached by Jesus align with the values promoted by Unitarian Universalism.

A special announcement from the Board

November 4, 2022

Dear Members and Friends of the UU Church of Kent,

It is with much love and gratitude that the Board of Trustees shares the news of Hal Walker’s resignation as Music Director. Hal has shared his passion for music with us for over twenty-five years, gifting us with a vibrant, creative music program. We will be planning a celebration of his ministry in the near future to honor and thank him.
