Born and Reborn Again – Sunday, April 29, 2018

Led by the Worship Arts Team

Our spiritual theme for the month of April is Emergence.  This service will explore the ways we are emerging from who we were in the past into we who are in the now.  How have we grown?  What have we learned?  Where are we headed?  Please join us as we ponder these questions together.

Sunday services are offered at 9:45 and 11:30 AM with Nursery care available during both services.

Special Meeting of the Congregation — Sunday, May 13, 2018

The UUCK Board of Trustees calls a Special Congregational Meeting on Sunday, May 13th in the Sanctuary between services to consider the ordination of Kristina Spaude. Kristina has been a member of the UU Church of Kent since February 2007. Having served as a lay leader in many capacities, including pastoral care, stewardship, worship associate, social justice, and as a youth group advisor, she finally answered the call to ministry and began seminary at Meadville Lombard Theological School in 2012. Kristina has since served as Director of Religious Education at SouthWest UU Church (North Royalton), Intern & Sabbatical Minister at the UU Church of Youngstown, and is currently a Chaplain Fellow at the Cleveland VA Medical Center. Her passions in UU ministry include leading worship, pastoral care, social justice (racial, disability, LGBTQ+ especially), and faith formation for all ages.

A quorum is needed to vote on the motion, “The Unitarian Universalist Church of Kent enthusiastically decides to continue support for the religious formation of Kristina Spaude, recognizing her years of preparation, by ordaining her as Unitarian Universalist Minister.”

Andrew Rome
Moderator, Board of Trustees

Earth Day – April 22, 2018

Led by the Worship Arts Team

This day – Earth Day — we will be celebrating the specific passions, knowledge, and expertise that so many of our members have about the earth — planting and harvesting, spending time outside in nature, how/why the earth nurtures you and you nurture it back, where your passion came from and/or how you’re passing it on.

Services are offered at 9:45 and 11:30 AM with Nursery care available during both services.

The Green Blade Riseth – April 1, 2018

Led by Rev. Renee Ruchtozke and Worship Associate Lori Fatchet-McGee

Underneath our forest floors lies an actual network of mutuality and connection that gives birth to new life again and again. Likewise, underneath our culture of force and exploitation lie seeds of human mutuality that also offer renewal. All ages will celebrate this Eastertide with stories and songs of hope for a better future for both people and planet.

Sunday services are offered at 9:45 and 11:30 AM with Nursery care available during both services.
