My family and I left Hawaii when I was 8 1/2 years old, 3 weeks before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. I met Ted Voneida, my husband during the Korean War. Together, we protested the many unnecessary wars after that. Our Japanese friends led us to understand the tole of war on their country as well. Now Japan is our ally, showing peace is possible if we are wise.
