The community meal is free and open to any/all local community members, particularly guests who may be experiencing food insecurity, loneliness or are houseless. Church members of ALL ages are also welcome to attend and enjoy the meal with our community guests or you can volunteer in the kitchen!
Our youth group UUYJ provides leadership for our community meal the first Sunday of every month. The meal is served from 5:00 PM-6:00 PM in Hobbs Hall.

Toiletries “Free Store”
The “Free Store” is a pop-up toiletries pantry hosted by our middle-school youth and is “open” during the community meal. We stock paper towels, toilet paper, adult incontinence products, shampoo, soap, body wash, deodorant, and more!
HOW AND WHAT TO DONATE TO THE FREE STORE
The Free Store has become quite a special place for our community to grab some things they need! Once a month at the community meal, our youth set up the store that offers free essential items to those in need. Our middle school youth are so very grateful for the support of this congregation in their mission to ease the economic burden for those most vulnerable! Here is the updated handy list of the things we are hoping for. Items in HIGHLIGHTED BOLD TYPE are the most needed.
Note: We serve about 80 individuals per month!
Donations can be left in the Fessenden Hall Kitchen and are stored in a few designated cabinets.
Please follow the instructions on the signs to keep the space tidy!
What We Need:
- full size hair products for all hair types Shampoo/Conditioner
- bars of soap and soap containers
- body wash
- small sized laundry detergent
- pampering products of any kind (face masks, bath soaks, bubble bath, nail polish, lotions, hair accessories etc)
- nail clippers
- toothpaste/toothbrushes/ travel containers for toothbrushes
- period hygiene products (pads/tampons/underwear liners)
- lip balm for chapped lips/ lotion for dry skin
- bandaids/first aid supplies/antibiotic ointment
- travel cups for hot and cold drinks
- hairbrushes/combs/hair ties
- toilet paper
- paper towels
- shaving cream and disposable razors
- FUN STUFF! (playing cards, crosswords, adult coloring books etc)
- deodorant
- wet wipes/baby wipes/antiviral wipes
- sunscreen
- basic cleaning supplies (dish soap, multi purpose cleanser, sponges etc)
- mess kits (plate/cup/utensils for one. Can be found in the Walmart camping section.)
- small reusable bags for shopping – these can be found at dollar tree and Marc’s.
- incontinence products ( Poise pads, Depends etc)
- TREATS! (fruit gummies, protein bars, snack food, candy etc)
- Phone Chargers
