We encourage members and friends to prioritize pledging to the Annual Program Fund when supporting the congregation.
However, we sometimes have unexpected or strategic needs where a one-time financial gift can Make a Difference:

- the monthly Special Collection for social justice partners
- the minister’s discretionary fund to support members and friends in need
- a new program initiative
- supporting the annual service trip for our UU Youth for Justice
- funding additional staff time for critical ministries (such as our 1868 Circle Fund)
- repairing or remodeling part of our campus (such as the Fessenden kitchen remodel)
- capital contingency funds (e.g. new roof or furnaces, belltower repair, Sunday Service streaming technology)
- “fund an item” initiatives for specific projects (such as outfitting our kitchen in Hobbs Hall)
Make a Difference gifts tend to come from the discretionary funds of our members and friends, such as:
- other “windfalls”
- “pocket” money (not part of the household budget)
- savings
- small inheritances
- minimum required distributions
- investments
